We started the week off celebrating International Woman's day on Tuesday 8th. To celebrate this amazing day, we brought to your a little something special on our socials. Last Wednesday we brought you some mid week entertainment in clinic with Nurse Frances and Make Up Artist Laura Dawson, live on Instagram for our live demo of RF Microneedling. We continued the week with more celebrations and surprises! Saturday morning we woke up to some amazing news from our Nurse Gillian up in Inverness. Meet our latest FTT baby boy, Luke El Deeb was morning Saturday morning in Inverness weighing in at 7lb. Massive congratulations to our Nurse Gillian and her husband Oz from all of us ar FTT. This year we have had an amazing 3 new gorgeous family members to the FTT Family, it certainly has been a mini baby boom at FTT Clinics! Continuing, Frances and John hosted a cocktail master class for their youngest Annie's 18th! Two mixologists set up the party last Saturday evening, conjuring up Mohitos to Strawberry Daiguiris for the group of 20. Happy Birthday Annie, we wish you all the birthday blessings from FTT Skin Clinics!
A Week of Celebrations!

The main reason why we're a bit late with our newsletter this week as we've been working hard, playing harder down in the big smoke! It's 3 years since the biggest British ACE Aesthetics Conference and Exhibition took place over two days with the Aesthetics Awards 2022.  Frances also took to the stage to be part of an expert panel with Mr Mark Devlin from Glasgow, MaxilioFacial Surgeon and Dr Johanna Ward, Cosmetic Doctor with Frances also carrying out a full face rejuventation on her model.  We will share all the photos on our social media and on here next week.  The weekend finished on a high on the Saturday night with a super glamorous gala dinner and awards ceremony which is quite simply the Oscars of the Aesthetics Industry. This year Nurse Frances is once again on the judging panel with a small group of her peers, the UK's top Nurse's & Doctors in medical aesthetics. It was a fabulous evening and we'll share the best bits next week I promise.  We have also brought home some new technologies from London so watch this space.  This week we will also be hosting a film crew from London who will be filming 7 patients having Full Face Rejuventation FFR by Nurse Frances.  We are all very excited about this so keep an eye out on socials for all the best bits.  I hope you are all well and we all look forward to seeing you in clinic really soon.  In the meantime, if there is anything you would like help with or to talk to one of us about please do not hesitate to contact us as we are first and foremost medical practitioners and if we don't know the answer be assured we will find out for you and refer on.  Take care everyone x

Hello dear readers as we welcome March with open arms. The last couple of months we've had storms, snow, dark mornings, early nights. Now, entering March we can't help but notice those delightful early signs of Spring! Snowdrops as well as lighter pink skies in the evening. We've almost made it out the other end of a very Scottish Winter, yeeeha! As-well as the shift in seasons we're noticing right now, we've entered a new moon in Pisces (what on earth is she talking about I hear you say.) Not all of us look into astrology, but to shine a little light, the new moon in Pisces will feel like a refreshment, a new month for new goals and new beginnings. This week we could not wait to show you are transformation of the month. Just look at our 5 year stunning transformation on Angela, wow! Angela has been a patient at FTT for 5 years. Other great news came this week with the Government to crack down on unregulated cosmetic procedures. Long over due! We are the only country in the world where non-medics can practice within a medical specialism. In Scotland, all medics in Medical Aesthetics are regulated and inspected by Health Improvement Scotland (who also regulated and inspect the NHS). We are also registered by our governing body's NMC, GDC, GMC. This gives the Scottish public complete protection. Our hope is Nicola Sturgeon goes one step further in Scotland and keeps medical Aesthetics medical, and not follow England with a two tier system when an excellent standard is already in places.

Government Cracking Down on Unregulated Cosmetic Procedures

We ended our week last week with a lot of worry in the Traill house hold. If Lulu could talk, she'd have a few things to say about life and how to live it, that's fore sure. Lulu suddenly became acutely and gravely ill yesterday and knew she needed immediate veterinarian attention. We cannot thank Nicola of the Avenues Veterinary Practice in Rutherglen, Glasgow for her outstanding out of hours 24hr critical care. We're very lucky, relieved and hugely grateful for the outstanding care and attention of Veterinary Surgeon Nicola Armstrong. A week of highs and lows, but what a team at FTT to come in and work along side each other week in and week out supporting one and other. Next week we'll take you through some of the best bits from our Instagram live, as well as showing you another cracker of an amazing treatment plan in our Inverness Clinic. Greetings love birds, we hope you all were feeling the love this week for Valentines, whether that be M&S Dine for 2, some well deserved pamper self care or your favourite naughty takeaway, it was certainly a week filled of joy and sharing the love here at FTT Skin Clinics. Glasgow City Centre too was filled with couples and Valentines groups all weekend out for a bit of fun & romance. Our team spent the day in variety! Nahl our Front of House decided to treat herself with some self care Monday night whilst listening to her favourite playlist, Kirsty & her partner stayed in and made Pizzas together, Paula and her family took a trip back down the road to Campbeltown for some home comforts and Natalie and her partner stayed up a little later than usual to watch Sunday night's Superbowl! We'd love to hear how you all spent this years Valentines after a locked down one previous. Single or taken, Valentines is everyday here so let's continue to spread the love all year round.

Some of your Valentines plans last week might of either involved Netflix's The Tinder Swindler or Inventing Anna, on a binge! Included in Frances's weekend plans, last Friday herself and John set off 2am to make a long car Journey down to Brighton for the weekend with Gary from the FTT Skin Lab! But first, 9am Bicester Village. If you haven't heard heard of Bicester Village, well.. keep this to yourself! Just outside of Oxford town centre, a luxury shopping centre filled with over 160 of the best high end fashion retailers, with outlets and reductions which will have knocking on the shop window at 9am.. literally.. Frances had to hang tight until opening told by the manager. A couple of hours there, then off to continue the trip down to Brighton for the afternoon. Frances and John spent the weekend with the head of our Lab Gary discussing some amazing things for FTT Skin. At FTT we always ask our clients how their finding their products and what they think is missing from their routine. It's our job to fill those gaps and provide solutions for you and your skincare routine, and this weekend we did exactly that. Discussing new products, FTT Skin Body Range including mists, lotions and serums. All our FTT Skincare products go through vigorous lab testing and trails to make sure we provide you with the best scientifically proven ingredients out there. New products are in the pipeline which we can't wait to share with you soon.

As well as Valentines this week we celebrated The Day of Woman and Girls in Science. You'd think or hope this day would be as celebrated as Valentines. At FTT Skin Clinics, we are all about woman empowerment and this day does exactly that. The international day recognises the critical role girls and woman play in science and technology. AT FTT we have 8 woman who have gone on to study Nursing and Medicine at University. With the guidance and belief, we have created and supported pathways for some amazing woman in our clinic, some of which are currently balancing their degree whilst working in our clinics, Paulina at our Hamilton HQ and Gillian up in Inverness. Woman really are the Queens of multi-tasking. We continue to champion all the woman in our clinic and out with to continue building your pathways into science and technology. We all need more of this.

Any patients coming into clinic for any injectible treatments please come off any over the counter supplements and oils 7 days before. This is to prevent any extra swelling and bruising these supplements may cause. And for any patients who are currently on any strength of Tretinion, please come off this 3 days before any facial treatment. This is to prevent any negative reactions!

This week we enjoyed training as well as dinner and drinks with both our Hamilton and Inverness staff together. Nikki took herself down the  A9 to join us for two days of Bespoke Facial and Obagi training topped off with dinner and drinks with the rest of our team to celebrate good ol' Robbie Burns! This year we passed on the Haggis and enjoyed a great night of Asian styled street food at Salt Hamilton, and WOW what a spread. Of course a couple of cocktails did no harm too.

Wednesday mornings are training mornings at FTT Hamilton! How have you all been this week? I’ve had a really good week  & hope yours was too. Mine started off well as you know with Obagi Ambassador of the Year win and Burns night was welcome distraction to our routine.  The highlight of the week, wasn’t Obagi award, it was finding a wee cafe that’s local to my dad in Fort William who home delivers.  It was a tight rope of negotiations and subterfuge to bring home the bacon, literally. To put you in the picture, he’s a very independent, 87 year young, widower with rubbish cooking skills and heavy reliance on his slow cooker who doesn’t like a fuss. You get the idea.  So my sister and I had the genius idea.  As a celebration of my daughter, Lilli, being offered her dream place at the university of her choice, we’d get grandad involved in the celebrations too.  So, together with their Oban cousins, his grandchildren fronted the whole ruse with grandad. He didn’t suspect a thing & was over the moon with his hearty, afternoon tea delivery with home made soup.  Consequently, he’s also tucked into delicious hone cooked, wholesome, hot meals, soup, sandwiches with cakes from with no resistance. Only wish I’d thought of it sooner .That’s me finished my Dimagra Keto diet 21 days.  I’m delighted to have lost 12lbs and like I said it’s not the weight loss that was my goal it was the visceral fat around midriff that had to go.  Its not good for your health.  It had to go.  And it has.  I can fit into clothes that I haven’t been able to. I feel much, much better and look better too. Look good, feel good, right? Lots of you have asked about it and here’s the most common questions you’ve asked with my honest answers. Is it difficult? Honestly, it couldn’t be easier. It’s 3 shakes a day, with meat & vegetables for lunch, 2 litres of water a day and two supplement drinks. I would say it’s strict. Don’t go in half hearted. Commit and do it.

We’re you ever hungry? No, never. Opposite as I actually struggled to eat the daily food allowance.

What’s different about it? It started off its life as a preparation for patients about to undergo Bariatric surgery. It was so successful that for many, they didn’t need to go ahead with bariatric interventions.

Did you feel sick or ill? No, not at all. Bit of a headache on day one, that’s all. I think the supplementary drinks twice a day really help with keeping everything in balance.

Top tips?  Go in 100%. Take each day as it comes, one day at a time. A week in with 14 days ahead was a bit of a hump. How do you eat an elephant? One day at a time!

What now? I’ll carry on with no / low carbs / keto as it seems to suit me. Must be my meat and two veg upbringing (sorry potatoes, you don’t get an invite)

How much is it? Just shy of £200 for 21 day kit box. I had in my head, okay that’s under £10 a day, how much are the daily bacon rolls from Pete’s cafe and the coffees from my favourites Roasted & Gro?
