What Can I Expect from the Weightloss Programme?

In a recent European trial of 554 people with a body mass index (BMI) of between 30 – 40 (which classes this group as clinically obese), patients lost significant amounts of weight.

In conjunction with a calorie controlled diet and an agreed exercise programme, at week 20, the following results were observed:

  • Average weight loss was 7.2kg for those on the 3mg dose
  • 76% of patients lost at least 5% of their body weight
  • Patients taking the lower 1.2 mg dose lost 4.8 kg,
  • those taking the 1.8mg dose lost 5.5 kg
  • those taking the 2.4mg dose lost 6.3 kg

Before you start your Appetite Suppression Injections…

Prior to starting on the Weightloss programme you will need to have a consultation with one of our practitioners to have a full medical history review and there may be certain tests that may be required for those with other medical conditions. There are also certain exclusion criteria which would prevent some patients from entering our programme.

You may not be suitable for this programme if:

  • You have a hypersensitivity reaction to liraglutide or to any of the product components
  • You have a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC)
  • You have Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome
  • You have Diabetes or you are currently using insulin
  • You are pregnant or breastfeeding
  • You have a BMI >27 (check using the calculator on this page)

 

There will be an initial consultation which will be free of charge so that the practitioner can establish your eligibility for the Weight-Less programme.

Depending on the rate of weight loss will determine the number of syringes required by the patient. All patients will be routinely monitored within the clinic during this programme.
