How is Ellansé different from standard hyaluronic acid filler?

Standard HA fillers add volume by physically occupying space in the tissue, then gradually break down. Ellansé does this too — but additionally contains polycaprolactone (PCL) microspheres that stimulate the body to produce new collagen as the product is absorbed. The collagen generated by your body gradually replaces the volume as Ellansé degrades, so results do not simply disappear — they evolve. Ellansé cannot be dissolved with Hyalase, which is an important consideration when choosing between it and an HA filler.

Can Ellansé be dissolved?

No. Unlike HA fillers, Ellansé cannot be dissolved with Hyaluronidase (Hyalase). This makes thorough pre-treatment consultation, patient selection and conservative placement even more important than with HA products.
