Lip Fillers in Hamilton & Inverness
Natural Lip Enhancement by Expert Medical Practitioners at FTT Skin Clinics
Lip fillers are one of the most popular aesthetic treatments we offer at FTT Skin Clinics — and among the most technically demanding to perform well. At our clinics in Hamilton and Inverness, lip filler treatments are carried out exclusively by Advanced Medical Practitioners with extensive experience in lip anatomy and advanced injection technique.
We use an extensive portfolio of premium, medically-licensed lip fillers because selecting the right product for your lip shape, skin type and desired outcome makes the difference between a good result and a great one. Whether you’re looking to add volume to naturally thin lips, restore fullness lost through ageing, improve lip definition and symmetry, or simply achieve a subtle, natural enhancement, we’ll create a treatment plan tailored entirely to your face.
Treatment is carried out using a blunt cannula, fine needle, or a combination of both — the most appropriate technique is decided at consultation following a full facial assessment. A topical anaesthetic cream is applied before treatment and many of our filler products contain lidocaine for additional comfort. Results are visible immediately, with the full settled result at two to three weeks.
We also offer a dedicated Dissolve & Solve Clinic for patients who wish to correct previously placed lip filler — whether administered here or by another practitioner.

Frequently asked questions
Will my lip fillers look natural?
Natural-looking lip filler is our standard, not an exception. We take time at every consultation to assess your facial proportions, lip shape and the outcome you want to achieve. We use conservative volumes and premium products chosen for their natural feel and movement. A good lip filler treatment should enhance what you have — not redefine you as a different person.
How much swelling should I expect after lip fillers?
Some swelling after lip filler is normal and expected. The lips are a vascular, sensitive area and most patients experience moderate swelling for the first 24–48 hours. This settles considerably by day three or four, and the full, settled result is visible at two to three weeks. We recommend planning your treatment at least two weeks before any important event.
How long do lip fillers last?
Lip filler typically lasts between 6 and 12 months. The lips are a highly mobile area — we use them constantly for speaking, eating and expression — which means filler metabolises faster here than in less active areas such as the cheeks. The product used and your individual metabolism also influence how quickly results fade.
Can previous lip filler be dissolved before a new treatment?
Yes. At FTT Skin Clinics we offer a dedicated Dissolve & Solve Clinic using Hyalase (hyaluronidase) to dissolve previously placed HA filler, whether administered here or elsewhere. We recommend allowing at least 7 days between dissolving and a new filler treatment. This allows any residual swelling to settle before reassessing the lip.
What is the difference between a cannula and a needle for lip filler?
Both techniques can produce excellent results, and the best choice depends on your lip anatomy and treatment goals. A fine needle allows very precise placement at specific points and is often used for defining the lip border. A blunt cannula reduces bruising risk and is well-suited to adding volume to the body of the lip. Many practitioners — including ours — use a combination of both within the same treatment for the most accurate result.
