Mole Map Clinic with FTT Skin Clinics.
What are skin lesions?
Skin lesions are areas of your skin that are different from the skin around them. Skin lesions are common and may be the result of an injury or damage to your skin, like sunburn. Moles are actually an example of skin lesions. They’re sometimes a sign of underlying conditions, like infections or autoimmune diseases. The majority of skin lesions are noncancerous and harmless (benign), but they can be a sign of something more serious.

Worried about a mole or skin lesions?
FTT Skin Clinics is working with Map My Mole to offer you a service to get UK consultant dermatologists to analyse your skin lesions. Avoid the hassle of going to the GP and NHS waiting lines by getting your skin lesion checked immediately. Early detections always provide a better chance of successful treatments.
“Something has got to give – the NHS and GPs are under incredible pressure – not to mention consultants like myself and my peers. While I can see up to 40 patients in a day, this app enables me to expertly assess up to 40 moles within two hours and it’s this kind of innovation that is needed to relieve some of the burden on patients and also medical practitioners.” – Dr. Toby Nelson, Founder of Map My Mole.
Analysis Procedure
- Book an appointment with us for a brief checkup.
- During the day of the appointment, feel free to share any concerns you have with us. We will do our best to explain everything you need to know.
- We will use a specialised dermoscope to capture images of your skin lesions/moles.
- These images will then be securely transferred to Map My Mole to be accessed by an array of UK consultant dermatologists.
- They will then provide their professional opinions and reviews of your images.
- The report will be sent to us, where we will discuss possible treatments if necessary.
- Alternatively, you can opt to have your results sent to your email instead of having to come in person again.
- If the skin lesion is harmful/cancerous, you will be advised to contact medical professionals for further actions.
- We also provide the service of non-surgical lesion removal for non-harmful skin lesions/moles using plasma or cryotherapy.

A medical-grade Dyplens “dermoscope” will be used to take images of your mole or skin lesion. The dermatologist will be able to see your skin in more detail compared to the naked eye or a normal camera as the dermoscope uses advanced magnification and lighting. Any abnormalities seen from the detailed images will be used to prompt further investigation or diagnostic tests.
After we have taken pictures of your mole/skin lesions, they will be submitted to Map My Mole for expert review. Map My Mole is a third-party service provider we use to obtain an indicative opinion from a consultant dermatologist regarding your mole or skin lesion. The consultant will review the images and prepare a report for us so we can advise you on the next steps.
When we submit the photos to Map My Mole for review, we must send them your name, contact information, and basic medical information, including the pictures we took of your mole. We may email you a link to Map My Mole’s privacy policy, or you can view it on their website at www.mapmymole.com/privacy-policy .
