At FTT skin clinics we offer a range of weight management treatments including weight loss, fat reduction, body contouring and skin tightening.
When we are young we can eat and drink as much as we like without it having too much effect on us but as we become older and less active it has a steady detrimental effect. However there are many other causes for weight gain including pregnancy, stress and bereavement, emotional eating, menopause, medical conditions (Underactive thyroid, Diabetes), Ageing and injury causing a change in our metabolic rate.
We provide weight management treatments for all our patients subject to a medical consultation together with baseline recordings such as height, weight, blood pressure and Body Mass Index calculation. We are not suggesting a quick or a time consuming exercise routine. Although both improved diet and exercise and definitely recommended for continuous weight loss. We notice a successful weight management treatment can be the trigger for patients to improve their diet, exercise and lifestyle. We can’t change past lifestyles but we can help you lose weight quickly and safely now.

Prior to starting on the Weightloss programme you will need to have a consultation with one of our practitioners to have a full medical history review and there may be certain tests that may be required for those with other medical conditions. There are also certain exclusion criteria which would prevent some patients from entering our programme.
HIFU
High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) at FTT Skin Clinics.
This treatment is a safe and effective non-invasive procedure. It is used to significantly improve facial wrinkles and skin laxity. It is particularly effective for targeted improvement in the jawline, cheek, eyes, forehead and for sagging skin in the neck area.
HIFU is unique in its ability to penetrate the dermis and the Superficial Muscular Aponeurotic System (SMAS) layer, which is deeper than all other non-surgical facial treatments. SMAS is the same layer which is tightened during conventional face lift surgery. However, unlike surgery HIFU requires no downtime. As well as smoothing out wrinkles, the HIFU treatment also targets fat loss.

HIFU is “High Intensity Focused Ultrasound”. HIFU stimulates the deep layers which support the skin creating a lifted, firm appearance and stimulates the production of further collagen.
Patients probably 30+ whose skin on face or neck had become lax and wishes to lift and tighten.
Clients may see an immediate improvement but generally lifting and firming will occur over three months as collagen is replaced with new stronger collagen. As the process continues improvements can appear for up to six months after the initial treatment. Most clients will find results last over a year although further treatments are recommended to retain the improvements.
Normally no downtime or recover time and most clients return to normal activities straight away. There may be slight redness following the treatment and a minority of clients report swelling, tingling or tenderness.

Plasma Shower is the process of removing all organic matter from the surface of an object through the use of an ionised gas called plasma.

1. Plasma shower.
Plasma shower stimulates the treated area showering and acting inside and outside the cell. Hydrofacial
Hydrofacial at FTT Skin Clinics.
Hydrofacial offers a next-generation water-based microdermabrasion. It uses various solutions which deep clean and exfoliate, hydrate and renew the skin and offers an anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory effect, which is great for various skin conditions.
Firstly, a Lactic Acid cleansing solution exfoliates and hydrates the skin. Dead cells, blackheads, and impurities are cleared using a suction device. A hydrating antioxidant solution is applied under pressure to hydrate and protect.
Secondly, Salicylic Acid is applied to treat oily or acne-prone skin with an anti-inflammatory effect.
Thirdly, a Hydro-essence is applied containing Vitamin B, antioxidants and nutrients which penetrate the skin and leave it hydrated and nourished.

IPL Skin Rejuvenation
IPL Skin Rejuvenation – FTT Skin Clinics.
We offer next generation IPL Skin Rejuvenation, hair removal, photo shower, cell toning and vascular lesion removal functionality.
Our treatments use a high powered computer controlled flash gun to deliver an intense broad spectrum pulse of light.
IPL and Laser both use light and heat for targeted treatments. However IPL uses a broad light spectrum to treat several conditions whereas Lasers use a single wavelength of light which will only treat one condition.
The following IPL Skin Rejuvenation treatments are available:-
- Cell Toning: Short rapid pulses of light remove pigment lesions (such as melasma).
- IPL Photo Rejuvenation: A continuous stream of 300 light pulses/per minute killing bacteria.
- Thread Vein Removal: Thread veins are removed permanently because the light is absorbed by the haemoglobin causing damage to those blood vessels. Eventually the veins break down and are reabsorbed by the body.
- IPL Hair reduction: Hair cells are killed because the pigment in the hair absorbs light which turns to heat.

IPL is comparable to an ultra powerful camera flash against the skin. The selected wavelengths target particular colour pigments which in turn targets particular skin conditions.
Our IPL uses a variety of different colour filters for different treatment whereas laser’s typically target a specific treatment because it only generates a single wavelength of light,
Hairs grow in different cycles – Active, Dormant and Shed ( to be replaced with new active hair growth). Hair cells are killed because the pigment in the hair absorbs light which turns to heat. IPL only removes hair during its active growth cycle which is why multiple treatments are required.
Light is absorbed by colour particles on the blood and melanin. It also treats the bacterium in acne and protein present in collagen producing cells. Pigmentation marks move to the surface and are shed naturally. Lesions are absorbed into the lymphatic system for excretion. Enlarged Pores and scaring diminish and fade. Fine lines and wrinkles are softened and may disappear. Collagen and Elastin production increase improving the skins texture and elasticity.
Most treatments have little or no sensation but others produce a stinging sensation similar to being pinged by an elastic band. If at any time the treatment is uncomfortable then the intensity can be reduced.
With any high energy, light based device there are risks involved including hypo, hyper pigmentation scarring and burning.
We perform a patch test 24 hours prior to treatment to minimise risk.

- Wear sun block with both UVA and UVB protection.

If you have any issue with your appearance and you simply want to talk to someone in confidence about possible undertaking some form of cosmetic surgery, you can talk with one of our experienced staff who would be able to give you guidance on the matter.

What can I expect during my consultation?
At FTT Skin Clinics we pride ourselves on offering a comprehensive consultation. This will include a full medical and will include a full facial assessment taking into consideration any areas of concern and areas which would enhance your overall appearance.
What can I expect during my treatment?
You will be made to feel very comfortable and your nurse will explain the procedure fully prior to treatment. The treatment takes approximately 30 minutes. Prior to treatment your skin will be cleansed. Where applicable local anaesthetic will be applied prior to injection. The treatment will not be painful although you may feel a bit of discomfort. Aftercare will be discussed and you should allow for some mild swelling following treatment.
When can I expect Results?
Results are instant and you will notice some improvement after treatment with continuing results over a few weeks as the hyaluronic filler integrates with your skin tissue. HA Gel fillers last on average 6-18 months dependent on the filler being used and the area treated. Your nurse will discuss this with you at your consultation.
What is the difference between Anti-Wrinkle treatments and HA Gel fillers for wrinkle reduction?
HA Gel Fillers create volume and smooth out wrinkles. Whereas anti wrinkle treatments relax the muscles that cause the wrinkles, fillers are injected directly into wrinkle to add volume and lessen their appearance.
